Summerplace Game Reserve FAQs
Are meals provided?
Summerplace is primarily a self-catering stay, but we do love cooking. We are able to provide up to three meals a day on request when booking only.
Can the whole reserve be booked?
You want complete privacy and wish to experience Summerplace as your very own. For you, we have introduced the option of booking all 11 units & reserve for your special occasion. Please contact us for a quotation.
I don’t have a bike?
Bike rental is calculated per person per day and includes a helmet. As a Specialized Ambassador, Summerplace offers top of the range, full suspension Specialized mountain bikes and eBikes for those looking to tackle the steller single track routes on the reserve. When renting an eBike, a guide is provided.
Is the reserve family friendly?
Located in the malaria free Waterberg, Summerplace boasts a variety of accommodation options that are perfect for families.
When are the best times to visit?
The best time to visit Summerplace is from March to September. That’s our favourite! Winter mornings and nights are cold but you have cozy fireplaces to enjoy. The wildlife viewing is excellent in the drier months.
Where are we located?
Summerplace Game Reserve is set in the heart of the magnificent Waterberg, forming part of the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, which UNESCO declared to be an official World Heritage Site in 2001. Our 11 accommodation options are surrounded by 3500 hectares of unsurpassed natural beauty that is replete with wildlife. Just 2.5 hrs from Johannesburg, it is an easy drive north.
